Look at below pics : Can I use this with my gen1 3sgte and can I swap it also to mechanical speedsignal??
the trans will work. i'm pretty sure the speedo can be swapped. you'll have to remove the electrical speedo and see if it has a gear on the bottom.
Maybe? Had to say to be honest. I've seen people rock the s53/s56 transmission for a while with no issues and others it grenaded. If you're going 3sgte, I would highly suggest sourcing an e153 transmission from either an MR2 or Solara. My .02.
it's a third gen 3sfe transmission so should handle more I guess? I use the gen1 engine and drive like 1500 km's max a year.
pfff...choices are : 1. this one from a 3sfe 125 euro's 68K Km's on it 2. A professionally checked ST202 3sge one for 350 euro's... 1 is cheap, nr 2 is also a bargain and a better match torque and HP wise... what do you guys think?
I don't think the auto would (I've never heard of a auto all-trac?) Mafix ran a 3sfe 5-speed for a while - you can ask him his 2 cents if you want.
if you use a 3sfe box: use 3sge axles (toyota) you should be fine at 300hp. anywhere over that: you have to watch yourself and NOT launch the car.
also: 3sfe boxs have the BEST gear ratio though you'll top out at 150mph. the 3sge box and e boxs have crap ass ratios and i have yet to limit mine (burried the speedo, have yet to do it with gps and those speeds are just stupid crazy).
Mafix is right, the GE has slightly longer diff and and the GTE has an even longer diff. FE axles are only to be used with FE motor The choice is obvious - the 202 box! 1) It's newer 2) Better cruizin ratios, FE box will be a pain with decent power (gearchanging/wheelspin) 3) It has improved dual syncro's - waaay better than previous versions 4) It's been checked by a pro
I decided to go for the ST202 transmisssion. It's designed for more hp and been checked as I do not want to take it all out because I had a 200 euro saver option .
Afaik it also have a lsd in there... Only thing make sure that your flywheel is big enogh in diameter, for the starert to engage properly when starting...
