So, I regard myself as a pretty damn amateur mechanic.. apologies if this is a fairy stupid question, lol..

I planned on removing my cruise control, and was following the write up

I removed the CC vacuum line, and T splitter.. and noticed something odd.. The other vacuum line (non CC) was capped off, yet plugged into the T?
I tried plugging it directly, started the car up.. Mass hissing (from the part pictured).

My question, what would this be exactly.. why would've it been capped off on a line - and what issues would this cause?

I have no idea what it is, but if it helps this is how it's connected on my car (no cruise control)

Yep, same setup. Bottom-left red arrow on your pic is capped off on mine...

I've just noticed these lines (circled) capped off on mine, too..
Anyone able to bring some enlightenment? :( lol..

My guess would be that someone has had it apart at some point and hasn't been able to figure out how to put it back together..

Ok.. so, as far as I can tell I'm missing an EGR modulator, and likely anything hooked up to it.. Guess I'll need to trace the other lines, see what the go is..
I don't think this would affect performance..

As for the other lines.. Still clueless

No, removal or blocking off of the EGR system won't effect performance, it's only there to lower emissions.

I thought as much.. I feel dirty knowing its removed now, lol..

So anyone able to ID the part in the first picture? Seems to be some kind of release valve..
One vacuum hose is blocked to it, so it seems a little pointless to me.

After much digging, turns out it's for the A/C
