Im changing the head gasket in my GTS and MAN what a Pain in the ass. I should have just taken the motor out it would have been easier. Anyone else ever feel my pain?

did a head gasket in a honda accorn, same problem was a pita to do in the car would have been simpler and quicker to pull the motor/tranny and pop the head off then bolt it back on and drop it in

so you are a starting mechanic then? well good choice on dealerships to go to. not the best money but nearly garenteed job anywheres. everyone has to do their time as a rookie and you'll get to a good point in a couple years.

6hrs to do a head gasket is along time, especially for a 4cyl(at least in my opinion as i can do an inline 6's head gasket in less than an hour)

Its Toyota's training program for mechanics.6hrs isnt a long time on a 4cy it all depends on the engine and how its setup, the 3sge has alot of shit on it thats a pain in the ass to take off because there is no room to work. i can change the head gaskets on a 60's and 70's v8 in about 2 hours tops becuase they are no nonsense engine, i just did a head gasket on a 3e-e a month ago and it took like 2 hours too but the engine is also the size of a lawnmower engine lol.
