My temp gauge is wierd, sometimes I can drive for hours without this happening, other times it will happen like every 10 mins. symptom: gauge stays slightly below half temp (dead middle) however out of nowhere it will peg out @ high (i mean peg lol doesnt inch its way there its just like BAM! high temp bitch!) however best i can tell the engine never overheats, no water boiling in the rad, ect. Now sometimes (more often then not) if i tap/bang on the plastic cover over the gauge cluster it will return to normal. causes as i see them: bad temp gauge bad coolant temp sensor? air in the rad, not sure how to clear that out tho.
anyone know about how much i should expect to pay for a new gauge cluster (well new via scrap yard) or should i just get an A/M gauge and if so any suggestions. cheap but good is better lol
I have a problem similar to that sometimes not always just on occasion, when i really get on my GTS sometimes it will drop below normal not raise but drop, new sensors and everything, still nothing.
