I know theres quite a bit of room between the bumper cover & radiator support of the 4th gen. I'm going with a FMIC on my car, as I don't want to chop the hood open (yet, I may vent it though).

Has anybody with a FMIC had any issues with the car overheating due to the FMIC blocking the cool air flow and forcing hot air into the radiator?

Yeah agreed no real issues, I actually have, an intercooler & 2 mocal coolers, one for transmission, one for PAS in front of my rad and it works fine.

intercooler medium is 50 F most, engine coolant is around 4 tiimes that. you wont have any problems and i have my intercooler directly infront my rad

There some pictures of how these FMIC's are run?

I don't see a lot of room for air to flow thru the front bumper cover unless I chop away at it (whcih I don't want to do).

I'm checking out This FMIC unit for my swap.

plenty have had FMIC's behind the stock 162 style front bars and have never reported any issues.

Anyone happen to have some links as to where you purchased/obtained your FMIC?

I'm seeing the 'all in 1 kits' from egay, but I'm not sure if I'd trust those. I can have a ricer shop here build one for $500 bux, but I'm not sure if I'd trust that to them.

This is the one I'm thinking about here. It's a universal kit from egay.

    IC kit

I don't know of any local builders to actually build one, the ricer shop by my office wants 700 to build one and install it :-\

most over here in oz with 185s use the ebay kits have never heard any complaints. The cooler core will be alot more restrictive but unless your running like 400kw i think itd be safe.

no way it's more restrictive than the stock units

i just bought the universal piping kit from ebay. some intercoolers on ebay looks a little fishy so i just used an evo9 intercooler. fits very well and it flows enough. its pretty tall but the top sits flush with the top of the bumper beam. no cutting of the bumper beam needed. i have some pics in my build on the members celica section. i can take more pics if needed. the whole thing cost me 250 to build myself.
