Can I change a bad expansion plug from the bottom without taking off intake mani???
Its a 3SGE auto. I haven't taken a peek yet but its one of the cyl block plugs toward the firewall.
    Thanx, Vicdat

I blew out a freeze plug in the same location and dumped all my coolant. I didn't take off the intake manifold, but used a rubber expansion plug instead of a freeze plug. It's held for 4 years. Still had to remove a cross-member to get enough clearance.

    Thanks Rick...
I'll put it up on the rack and see if that solution will work.

So I checked it out real close today and it's not a freeze plug...it looks like I'm getting a little seepage out of the timing cover gasket to water pump I imagine that the seal on the WP is leaking and going out thru a weep hole or the edge. Anyway next week end I plan on getting a water pump and timing belt kit and switch it out along with new motor mounts.

Is there a good tutorial on replacing the timing belt/water pump on this forum? With pics, details, pitfalls etc?????
