Can it be done? I can get a running motor thats IN a wrecked 98 Celica GT for about $450 (motor has 120k on it) and Then I can get an 88 Celica with just short of 300k miles on it for another $450 Will it swap and is it worth it? This is for douge Monkey's friend he joined us at the east coast meet and because of that he wants a 4th gen coup... and only people willing to sell have GT's with mileage thats way out there...
It will swap but not really worth the time. Thats just a 5sfe in the 98 gt. I'd overhaul the stock motor personally.
same hp like 5 more torques and 1000 less redlien, probably better mileage though would have to use either an fe tranny or mod the ge for the starter problem. lala
I would pick up the GT for $450 and then come up here and pick up that 3SGE that we have sitting in my garage. Probably the best swap for what you are looking for, with the most power options available to it...Could build a nasty 5SFE though. Always a thought.
