So I was hosing underneath the Burpcar (3SGE auto) and probably a little water splashed up. Car cranks strong but won't start. I checked inside the cap and rotor and it was dry; so was inside airbox. Getting strong spark...who can tell me how to fix quickly and cheaply?

    Thanx in advance,

maybe the spark plugs or the wires are old and toasty ;). I had that with my car, they looked ok, but water got in...afterwards I did a resistance check and that was showing me bad values...so I replaced those. Still have them laying around, practically new... hmm something else to sell lol

Let the car dry a bit and it will work again.

i hit a big puddle once and i needed to change the plugs to get one of my cylinders to run again. didn't see anything wrong, but i changed it anyways and it fixed it.

Thanks guys...I think Lone Wolf wins this one...
I sprayed a little WD on the wires last night and this AM she fired right up...came to work runs fine!
I think I'm due for new plug wires anyway. I think mine are from an F series motor because the upper cap seals don't line up with the sheet metal plate across the top of the head on my 3SGE.

Old wires just let water in... buy a new set and it will run stronger as well, the spark is stronger ;).

Any recommendations on the plug wires? I was leaning toward NGK TWX-9333 for around $30.00 on the internet.
By the way my car is actually missing the little sheet metal cover that the plug wires go thru on the top of the head if anyone has a spare for a 3sge...

I noticed a noise in the front left wheel and thought it was maybe the squeeker (sensor) telling me I needed new brakes...I was due for balance and rotation, so I had Discount Tire check it out. It turned out to be the left front wheel bearings were shot. I let them repair it for $120 which included all parts, labor, and alignment. Car drives great again!
