SO I got the dreaded Ebay H4 Projectors and also a Oracle HID kit.
First off I installed the Projectors themselves and aimmed thed correctly. These are good housings, there not DOT spec i dont think
There literally standard H4 housings with projector in them. I dont think there tuned corectly. just made.

I think the black housing projectors will eliminate alot of outward light splash.
Anyway the housings.very easy install very clean look.

So obviously the light output in easily4x better but the aiming of the HIDS is high some adjustments will be needed.

When you see the road signs with the 6k kit its amazing!!!

light output looks very splotchy....or is it just a bad picture and bad aiming?

what kind of amperage draw are these over say just standard h4 halogen bulbs?

nice! dont see hid's in pop up headlights much, i like it though. i got some of those same headlight housings except they're not projectors and im gonna see how they work with hid's.

looks ok, but is the lens of the "projector" part only in the front glass???

If so...bad "styling" ... Either real projectors or clear lenses, both are ok to be adjusted for aiming correctly.

    Looks good!

And wolf the projector has a separate glass lens in these lights.... I've got the black housing ones but didn't bother to put HID's since it doesn't drive right now anyway... :D

The picture is with the headlights aimed horribly. I had to fight some of the retaining screws to get the trim ring off.
Once the lights are aimed there perfect and a little splotchy. Since a real projector doesnt let any light out passed the projecter lens these housing has some outward light splash. it lights up alamost a full 180 degress in from of the car.
its definielty more light. i havent been hibeam flashed yet, or people dont adjust mirrors when i am behind them. BUT 6k hid are super damn bright.
These lights are aim tested from the company there just made and sold. So each light could have its ownaiming issue but there is not going back to halogen now.

Amperage draw is was less then with standard halogen. becasue once the Gas is ignited it take 2/3 less power to run a HID then a Halogen. But 1 second during strt it take more voltage then Halogen. Which has not been an issues for the 89 celica wiring as of yet. NOthing has melted nothing oerheating.
I will try to snag some road pics of how signs light up with these HId its amazing.
Roadcones light up a clear 3/4 mile down the road, road sign are more vibrant the ever. Halogen has no match , siverstars are waste of money.

I know...I have xenon in my celica, avensis and the wife's ford :)

But in the celica I have clearglass lenses with approval.

I just bought a HID kit for my car. ANy issues with clearance on the back of the lights? Apparently the bulb plugs stick out quite a bit farther

Yeah these kits are on Ebay. He is a trusted member of my dodge charger forum an a goo portion of the charger guys have these lights. He even included a free harness to convert to H4. This is a 100% plug n play kit.
    Pm me for more details

Right behind the headlights there is a hole in the core support looks ike it was made for the wiring actually the factor wiring goes thru there.. Run it thru there and try to keep the wires low.. and give it enought slack so the motion doesnt bind. I installed these with the grill out it give o more hand room and you will see what i am talking about. once it removed.

Updates on the Lights.... THe engine in my celica just took a crap. But the light are stil running strong and looking great over 300 start up easily.. Thee kit shave really good manual flickering capabilities..
I have noticed if you flick to HI-beams sometimes the Lows HID wont reignite. so you would have to cut them off then back on but I was testing the system not actually using my HI beams.

THe projectors are not great products they are ebay units not full projectors they are the weaklink of the system.
I actually think the HID is melting the glue attaching the Lens in the holder.

Also these lights do not have DOT stamp so there not legal. I would suggest the little more pricey but DOT legal sealed beam conversion lamps.

Anyone have any HID kit updates? I didn't wanna go starting up a new thread when this one already pertains to my interest.

I have a lead on some projector housings which are virtually identical to the pic in the first post of this thread, however it seems inevitable that you're gonna get some light spray from whatever lamps you have installed. I'm not burdened by sealed beams so that's no issue. However I am interested in some 5000 - 5500K HID's if anyone knows of any reputable sellers please let me know.

Does anyone have a pic of the projectors with the black housings? I'd be interested in these.

be carefull, black housing paint will MELT and your car will be smoking and smelling awfully :).

I run HID 8000K with clear headlights for over 5 years now. But I don't use the car alot.

I thought there was a reason why the projector lamps I'm perusing on ebay now were all very cheaply priced (starting at around US$7.99)... but then you look at the shipping cost and I can't really justify it (around AU$80).

I use mine as a daily, that's the difference. Are there any other viable alternatives to non-glare/spray from HID bulb setups? Right now I'll guarantee my setup will spray HID light massively.

The clear headlights I use are Glass and NOT cheap ebay plastic stuff...they cost but are legal in Europe. Some others I know drive them daily without any issues. Please do not compare my headlights with ebay stuff :). And the HID set I use is brand Pilot and goes for 179 Euro a set but have 2year full warranty and I bought with groupbuys over 40 sets from which 2 sets where not functioning as they should but were replaced without hassle or costs.

Buying cheap most of the times is buying shit :). Not always, but many times it is.

Can you hook me up with a brand name and a price and maybe where to get these glass lamp assemblies from? I already have a good lead on some Philips HID's, just need to get the correct headlamp assemblies and I'll be modding in the near future.
