    Hi guys,
The other day, my 86GTS started to jerk under acceleration. Usually from a start/1st gear or at low speed, like 2nd gear out coming out of a turn.
It's kinda like it's jerking or bucking is the best way to describe it.

    What is the cause?

    Thanks

My guess is fuel related - blocked injectors, filter etc? Possibly the fuel pump

Don't forget our lovely intake tube likes to split and cause that as well!

    Second on the air intake.

If its more of a hesitation, then speed up, probably fuel. But if it feels like a mad horse then my guess is air hose from the filter to the throttle body. Mine would jerk something fierce and it was just one crack in the bendy bits of the air pipe.

    * Be sure to check auto shops for generic / aftermarket air pipes, as i bought a genuine replacement and it cost me $130 Aus O_O

It 's not hesitation, it is definitely like a mad horse bucking, bwahaha!! That is the best description I've heard - but it only does it in 1st and/or 2nd gears. I will check the air hose again and post back. Thanks for the replies!

Yeah mine only did it at low revs, like around the car park. Once I was going it was fine.

Check vacuum hoses too just in case, any leak after the airflow meter could cause it.

My air pipe seemed fine, the crack was actually under that wire style hose clamp they use from the factory, it must really dig in after all those years!

    Solved!!
So the culprit WAS the big air intake hose after all. I didn't see it at first because it was hidden in the accordion section of the hose where it bends.
Thanks for the input guys :D
