Bad idle

When I start my car it will idle quite rough at about 750-800 rpm. Once it begins to warm up, the idle smooths out but also slowly increases until it reaches about 1200-1300 rpm. After I drive it some, when stopped, it idles at 1300-1350 rpm.

What the hell is the issue? It is much better since i got my new throttle body but I still cant pinpoint the problem.

Bad idles are tricky to diagnose.... and I haven't come across that problem yet.... How's your AFM? Is it dirty? Possibly broken? All cables and clips are plugged in?

It runs pretty well other than the funky idle. I am not too worried about it at this point, just more if an irritant. Maybei'm just too anal.

vacuum or intake leak. also clean out your throttle body to make sure the ICM isn't clogged. on the ge motor it is vacuum controlled.

My Trac does the same in the mornings ..actual most of the time, when it starts it revs to like 2k and then drops off and sometimes just dies out, chokes and sputters like not enough spark, i know its running SUPER rih cuz the exhaust just reeks of raw gas. And i get about 15mpg

I actually took that 3-way out....I think it's because I took the C/C out and that left line goes to it....so I had to improvise....seemed to work ok...but maybe that's why it's not passing the etest..lol

I dont even have that 3 way. Hmmmmm...... I guess I need one for CC. That must be why I could never find where the CC vacuum line connects.

hmmm kind of odd. yeah i thought it was weird that something that tiny would have such an effect.

I still have not been able to figure this out. :wall: It seems that it may be the idle control valve?
