    *yes I searched first
I was just wondering if anyone has done this or if it's doable? I've heard the162's underbody is different then the 165 but idk...an yes I'm sure it's cheaper to just buy one but I have a deep connection with my 62 an just want to know if I can be done without dropping like 10k lol

depends on your fab skills...i know of a way to make it rwd but it involves alot of fab work and a parts car....lol

miata parts car and swap the strut towers front and rear and then cut firewall and make new floor and transmission cover on floor......hardest parts are make sure your pedals dont interfere with the floor and making the seats sit properly

got the idea from a guy that did it with a probe.

you have to use the front and rear suspension from a miata and get a steering knuckle adapter to which you will have to fab up.

I personally wouldn't waste my time. However I've heard that the ST202's are fairly easy to convert to AWD compared to the 182 and 162

the 162 has no tunnel for the driveline and no space for the rear axle.....all that would have to be fabbed up.....basically cut the whole floor out and drop a miata suspension and make a new floor.

Ahhhhh well Knew it would deffinetly take some work...I'll put the AWD swap in my "imma do it when I got no other mods an can actually afford to do it" category...along with my RHD swap hahaha

just buy an alltrac. they are not that expansive and usually very cheap because they are not running.

fun fact: the st165 is the most produced gtfour or alltrac out of all of them.
