Im wondering iv searched for a while but is there any way to make a 2se faster without custom parts/ can any parts be swapped from a diffrent engine?
in short about the only thing you can do is intake and exhaust. mabye advance the timing a little. the 2s was never a performance/upgradable motor.
who makes exhaust? i was going to go custom 2.25'' with a apexi n1 muffler and im trying to figure out how to make a cold air intake that fits i have a k&n filter.
ya i can see that the closet i came to finding a bolt on was ebay header it said that it was ment for a 86 gt but it exited from the front. btw has anyone cuilt a 2s-e?
I was temped to buy one and build a 1800cc GE motor or a 1800cc carbed FE by using a GE crank and 84m pistons Way I see it, it would be cheaper to fit a late model (95+) 5S-FE motor (as powerfull and more torque than early GE's) than to mod the 2S. Even if you did spend mega moolah on cams, porting, valves, pistons, headers, rods etc the limit would be around 200hp and the flywheel would probably want to go walkies. You could also use FE parts to rebuild your motor and turn it into a FE which accepts the GE exhausts/radiator etc Finding anything for the 1S/2S is going to be damn difficult, only ones I've seen were scrapped and you don't see parts listed either. Anything older than 20yrs is deemed obsolete by Toyota and the racks are emptied to make way for newer models. Check out the engine bay section for some pics of some of the 1S/2S motors I saw
im just getting this motor running so i have a drivable car (for know). i found out that i just need new pistons ,connecting rods and a cylinder head on the 3s-ge. Now im trying to find second gen pistons and connecting rods with a used first gen head.
i dunno if anyone here remembers but my first 4th gen was an 86 GT with a 2se. Its a pretty dead end motor. i had mine bored ten thousandths and had a custom header made at a local exhaust shop. The car only made maybe 145hp. Best thing to do is get a better engine, Ge or GTE, i was never really a fan of the 3sfe either. The 2se and 3sfe are war horses though, you can beat on them hard and they wont let you down!
i have come to that conclusion im saving up for a first gen 3sge in good condition after im done my bodywork.
