a nice sucking/pressure test of the system....a few fittings for the high and low pressure hoses and some r13 to shoot in the vains..thats it.
I thought there was some shit you had to do. Because I see those r13 cans in the autopart store but is that going to recharge it.
If anyone knows how to do this/ has pictures of what needs to be changed. I think I need to change mine over to r134 this summer as it is loosing its cold
I don't want to look like an idiot when I go to get it recharged with r134 and they tell I can't. Damn were is Dan these days. He knows.
If your system still has the old stuff in in it it should be removed. And then the R-134 put it in. Most part store places have an upgrade kit that has all the adpater fittings youll need to put R-134 in. On the box it will tell you if you can mix the old with the new. The kits are around 50 bucks and pretty straight foward. AC is highly overated anyways...Thats why we have sunroofs.
So there is not parts that need to be added to the system. It all about draining old stuff out and adding the r134
yep.. 1st get it professionally vacuumed out and tested for leaks. 2nd put on fittings 3rd fill with r134a and call it a day
ahem.... you cannot EVER mix r12 and r134. the system has to be completely vacuumed out first and i recommend replacing the dryer with that. everyone remembers what green jello looks like? that's what you will have in your AC lines if you mix the 2 freons.
