Unfortunately i had to start off the summer by finding out that i have a warped piston... I'm in a bit of a pickle and i don't know if i should rebuild the bottom end or just sit on it for now. Can someone (or several people) pls explain the advantages of the rebuild and if i would run into any problems. (I don't plan on upgrading any of the following)

    Car:
    1986 Toyota Celica GT-S

    Engine:
    Gen3 3sgte (ct20b)

    Transmission:
    lsd from mr2 SW20
    bully stage 2 racing clutch

    Mods:
    FMIC
    2.5" Turbo back
    Boost controller (set at 17psi)
    Walbro 255
    Blitz SSVD Blow Off

first...how does one "warp" a piston? what kind of pistons are in the motor?

Supposedly i was running too lean because of over boost and i melted a piston. I have 90% leakage in my 1st cylinder and then when i look at the cylinder wall there are vertical scratches. i still haven't seen the piston itself, but either way a rebuild will be necessary. Im running everything stock except for the mods i listed.

Where have I heard this before? This is all too common on boosted GTE's so don't
    feel left out

ATS and HKS make good bottom end kits but also won't last if the tuning is wrong

yeah, i believe the piston is melted. such a bummer with summer starting and not having my ride :(.
When i get the block rebuilt and stick with the stock turbo, stock injectors ect... do i have to worry about this happening again? Ill also have a wide band to make sure im not running to lean.

well if you have the stock ecu then there is nothing you can do. but at 17psi on stock 540 injectors you should not have this issue. post some pics up, perhaps i can help a bit more.
