    Hello guys.

    I start a swap in 3SGTE into st162.

I will buy the engine, the hardness and ECU

First: Install the fuel pump and the oil pump and the timming belt with tensioner and bearigns. (ALL NEW)

Second: Cluch new, and 3SGE trasmision

These 2 steps estan clear but a advice or warning

    Sorry for my english

Great topic to watch, as I'm going to do the same in Autumn (wedding in August;) )

You use the 3s-ge tranny with the 3s-gte engine. Which clutch are you going to use? Upgraded flywheel? I'm curious :)

And what is with your english then? From which country are you?

I think the 3sfe transmission will work better.

I'll wait for mafix to discuss this though.

There are a lot of threads already on this subject you might find usefull as well...

    Hello guys

    I will use the 3SGE tranny because i have a 3SGE engine

    Is there compatible??

I do for first time a swap.

All harness of 3SGTE is compatible?

I think in a upgrade cluch kit, exedy or other.

I speak spanish, i live in tenerife in canary island.

The GTS tranny has to be modified to mount the starter. You best bet would be to use a GT tranny- youll also have a better Gear ratio.

In canary island is very dificult buy ST162 parts.

The Gt tranny is better but i purchase when the engine (3SGTE) is finished and start without failures.

    The modification is this?

i'm not sure what is going on there but yes the starter needs to be flipped to the tranny side.

I always thought if you use the gen1 tranny and gen1 engine it would mount up perfectly....only if you use a gen2 engine it's different right?

nope as long as it is an S series tranny so 86-89 celica or 87-91 camry and you can go up to a gen3 3sgte all matching the olny problem is the 3sge starter is in the way of the exhaust manifold

i think it does clear but it's too damn close and burns up the starter from the turbo heat.

    Hello guys

The harness the 3SGE 1 gen is the compatible with 3SGTE 1gen?

    Y need a other harness for 3SGTE?

    Regrads

No, You cannot use the 3s-ge harness, without major modification. You will need the 3SGTE harness. I don't know much about it, but I know that you will have to get the GTE harness...
