I'm looking into solutions, any oppinions? Hopefully, I can find something that bolts-on, no? Pacesetter? Issues? -K
pacesetter bolts right up. that's the one i have. BUT you'll have to use a universal converter in the mid pipe if you have emissions.
I was planning on sitting on the header until I snatched-up the rest of the Pacestter exhaust system or vise-versa. Which leads into the catback questions. Does the catback system has the midsystem I need for the header? -K
no you use the stock midpipe. what i did was made my own 2.25 inch system with a universal converter and a sport muffler.
Ok, it sounded like you were saying I needed something I didn't already have. I see there's a Bosal downpipe and midsection out there that replaces the stock counterpart, but it's most likely the stock size not 2 1/2" (it doesn't really say) and the Pacesetter comes with a downpipe anyway. I would assume logically speaking, that a stock section in there would kinda slow the flow as it's a more narrow stock section which is why you probably made your own. I think it would make more difference and/or sense for you since you have a Turbo. For me, I don't really know if having that stock section in there would be much of a hinderance. I know there's a bunch of speed shops in town that could fab a 2 1/2" section for me, I'd have to research it and find out. There's nothing really wrong with my exhaust, I figured I'd just upgrade it when it needs replacing since it's almost the same cost. Do you think an upgrade would help the engine last longer? Would the change in back pressure mess with it? I would think it would a good thing since all that hot exhaust would exit the engine faster, so might as well right? Last question, if I did this, would it pass inspection? I see disclaimers and such for emmissions, don't know if that applys to me here in NY. Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make an informed decision when that time comes. -Kevin
Daammn... 3"!!! Not that surprised actually. What do you want for your custom midsection? -Kevin
