My "stock" photos shown as the 2nd owner. Well maintained, all body cosmetic and mechanical in decent shape. The vehicle has since become a resto mod project of mine - I'll keep all of you posted, minus all the silly graphics & all -K
about time you got some pics up... lmao....shes a very clean car.. i like the tapered "gt" stripe along the side of her... keep the goods coming man
Thanks guys... I know, it was about time hahahaha, I misplaced these photos for a while but I found them last night( from the 2007 MD meet) The overall condition is pretty exceptional for a 20 yr old car, the thanks really goes to the previous owner Caroline who really babied her especially not driving it in the winter and garaging her. There are a couple dings here and there, doors are sagging, the truck was bent due to a faulty trunk strut, small tear in the top - to be expected for the age. Main goal is full resto however some of those things will end-up as mods - ie I upgraded to GT-S exhaust from DP back. Suspension is technically next however other things may get done before that - I have the rear spoiler now and have been thinking more and more about a kit and paint. If find a good deal on rims/tires I'll pull the trigger on that in the near future also. The major part will be the motor/drivetrain and as you know I've been wishywashy on that subject - ge or gte Some other frivolous things make get tossed in along the way like JDM mirrors, JDM corners, reupholster cloth as leather and those miata rollbars over the seats 8) Anyway, It's been a slow train commin' so far - it's hard to get things done on such a limited income, hopefully this year I can pull-off more progress. -K

5 lug conversion is the plan, mainly to do rear drum to disc conversion. I haven't decided if I'm going to buy new parts with used gt-s hubs or just use all used parts. Possibly new ss brake lines, but that depends on labor cost. I'll use the gt-s stock wheels for a while, but will upgrade to bigger - nicer - lighter wheels eventually. Wheels will have to wait though, I still need to finish upgrading the suspension.
i mean you already did the conversion? the first stock pic is 4lug, same as my wheels, but the last few pics show the 10spoke 5lug on the vert?
Nope, the set that came with the car is facelift 13" 4x100's, the most recent set I bought was a pre-facelift 13" 4x100 set which is on the car now.
As for exhaust, it's pretty much already done minus a couple parts to be installed. I already have GT-S exhaust, so I'm planning loose the stock cat and relocating a new cat after the flex pipe and adding the 4-1 OBX header I have. In case people are wondering why the header isn't on the gt-s at this point, it won't clear the GT-S starter. It should fit on the 'vert though as long as I loose the stock cat and I can keep my 3sfe tranny and starter combo. Hopefully with the header, I won't loose too much on the low end, but I was contemplating an aluminum flywheel to compensate for that. Kind of a theoretical plan though, as no one I know has done this yet. :fingersx
cams would net you more, and be around the same as a flywheel. got mine done for $250, and thats a weld and grind. -as ive understood it from the R&T papers, order should be cams, exh header, ecu. -i had asked the machine shop i used about lightening everything and they said for the cost vs. gains its really not worth it until you get into very high hp numbers. also remember if you just slap on a flywheel it wont be balanced with the rest of the rotating assembly and could net more stress and a less stable/reliable engine. -7grams of wieght 4" from the center of rotation nets 112 lbs of force @8000 rpm....they milled 64grams from my crank alone....thats almost 1000lbs of force. i also had to replace the harmonic balancer, a new oem couldnt be found so we went with a slightly larger one. while adding wieght it will actually reduce stress as it has better dampening.
I think I'm going to wait for any internal modifications. I need to get it swapped first, make sure it's 100% running correctly THEN think about mods.
