Hello everyone, I'm from Alaska and just picked up a rare beaut. PO installed an st185 motor and tranny and fully restored it. Picked it up for $4750 and honestly, that's a damn steal up here in AK. The interior is absolutely immaculate and very clean. I wanted to have this as my reliable daily during the winter months while I store my Evo X that has the motor built. Also picked up an 81 Corolla SR5 Liftback as a project car. I am thinking of doing a motor swap i.e. V8 or a boosted straight 6.

Welcome! Very clean looking 165 you've got there. Must be the only 165 in Alaska!

Thank you! It seems these forums are pretty much dead now.. You're absolutely right as well, it's the only one I've seen in my city with a population of about 80k haha. I just recently had it dynoed and its pushing 220 to the wheels, so approx. 245-255 at the crank which is amazing considering its age.

    Welcome! That's quite clean!

I didn't realize no cruise control opens up so much space.

Thank you for the welcome! I saw the Craigslist ad and had to have it. In my city with a pop. Of about 80k it is the only one I've seen so far. I recently had it dynoed and its pushing about 220 awhp which is absolutely amazing. I can honestly say I like this car better than the 2002 Wrx I previously owned.
