So thought i'd start a page for my Celi. Some of these you guys have already seen but i will be adding more as i rebuild and upgrade her. The Front : The Rear : Poly Front & Sway Bar Bushings : Interior [OEM is clean But Goin Black On Black..Someday] : Power Plant ["Soon" to be replaced by performance Rebuilt 3sge ] : Brake: Went with a 5 lug conversion .. ~ Vented/slotted bendix rotors and Duralast GOLD ceramic brake pads: [pics up soon] Black Semi-Gloss Powder Coated Rims : 11/25/07 UPDATE: Engine is out.. Rear Poly Sway bar Bushings, Couldt find them in the States.. Got them from the UK So..i'm Staying with my 1st gen 3sge..i just want this thign to run again, i really would had liked to see a 3sgte in it but i just have way too many projects and i'd rather see my supra get the attention it needs..But the celica will get done 1st.
I bought a 2nd gen off of ebay, After its built up..My goal is 200 At the crank. Brakes.. calipers and mount are off a 2006 scion xb = $100 ebay brembo rotors = $120.00 Interior.. buying new black carpet, race seats Got door skins from the junk yard having a headliner place localy do the headliner The 3sge will be for sale after the 2nd gen is done too
ya i only did the fronts in the brembo..the backs are still oem really wanted to the 5-lug conversion but just wanted to get the brake part of the car done with
SCION XB Brake set-up = 4 x 100 bolt pattern ..Stupid Everything except the strut is all xb and yea i had to re-drill where it mounts
i hate to break this to you...to me the upgraded Xb brakes are stock GTS calipers. the rotors are are nothing more than drilled or slotted stockers. but very nice.
The xb's have bigger rotors = better stopping power By bolting on the xb mount/caliper i was able to install bigger [drilled/slotted stockers] Was a cheap way to do a big brake set up.
Def man..the celica crowd are the only ppl who really appreciate the work i put into her..Round here if its not a wrx,evo or vr4 equivalent..You get laughed off the scene
Okay, so my mouth's hanging open and drool is oozing out the corners from looking at that brake upgrade.....I want it....BAD.
Here's an idea for the rear: I have heard the rear brake setup from a 1986 Corolla FX16 will work on our celica's. That would convert the rear brakes to rotors if you could find all the parts necessary, then do the same Scion upgrade to rear. Hmmmm, wonder if that would work....any takers?
i hear you there, they genraly dont even notice these cars. unless your a true celica enthusiast like all of us, but thats why were all here to make them remember that 4th gens are still out there and coming back with a vengence.
if i was younger and dumber you might see my new car in the street racing vids. but now i'm turning into an old timer.
When i get the 2nd gen in with a 75 shot..It may a lil more respect. but the Supra is what will eventually hand their asses to them..but the celi is 1st on my list right now..It is worlds closer to being finished luvinmycel: The hardest parts to find were the scion mount/calipers..Youre best bet is to someone that went with the actual big brake set up on his xb on scionlife.com or simular website And you drums on the rears ? ? = Ewww celic_gt2: A very few amount of the high hp AT's around get respect but even those guys arent among the big hitters
