what is the procedure for the 3s-ge 162. Specifically is the cold start injector supposed to pulse consistently until the engine fires? My snot box has taken to being slow to start from cold and when i've checked the cold start injector fires only once when cranking. Cheers.
Ive come to the conclusion that one of the temp sensors has shit the bed, I'm getting another one over the next couple of days. Something interesting is when you first crank it it gives a spray for about 1/2 a second, then if you keep cranking it won't spray again, nor will it spray if you stop cranking then start again. But if you turn the ignition off completely and start cranking again it will give another 1/2 second spray, if you do that it starts pretty quickly so I've been doing that until I get another sensor.
Holy Jesus captain I didn't know you were on here. Yah the cold start is while cranking. I found that out the hard way when I eliminated the start circuit with a start button direct to the starter. Witch I need to change at some point
Haha yeah, I'm on you're forums trolling your posts. Yeah mine only fires once. I'll update after I have swapped the sensors.
Cold start injector switch? one of the sensors in the coolant elbow? My step dad and I were mucking around with the sensors and isolated one that seemed to be a culprit, but I've not got another one yet.
Cold start injector has the brown plug in this case the cold start sensor has a "17" stamped on it The green plug below it is the EFI temp sensor
Good thread. I get the impression that turning the ignition off would reset the cold start injector time switch ??
