    Hello guys,

I'm french so Excuse me for my english, I will to try to improve.

My name is Didier, 23 years old and I bought my celica there is 2 years ago.

It's a car which have 220000km (about 135000 miles) who I use for race on a circuit.

She is illegal on a road because she is used 100% for a race.

    actually,The car has this configuration:

1/2 slick tires R888 in 205/50/15 (soon slick tires in 235/580/15)
    St182 Coilover
st205 rear brake 315mm made in home
st205 front caliper installation made in home with 305mm disc which enter on a 15 pouces rims
    roll cage 6 pounds
rear wide over 64mm made in home
    3SGTE rev 3 from st205 with 25000 miles
    ST202 gearbox with st162 driveshaft
now Boost controller at 1 bar(~14psi)
    car emptied of all weight
Window in plastic (actually on going)
    dashboard made in home
    stainless exhaust made in home

For the moment, It's just that I remember on my car, details will arrive with pictures.

during my last race the 8 August 2012, I have to do the same time what the porche 997 gt3 (screen movie)

I put movies of race on dailymotion, if you want to look, write axpatate in research (boost controller at 0.7 bar, ~10psi)

For the moment, I am in my job so I will put a lost of pics tonight.

good bye, at the next time

    Welcome

Good to have a real racecar on here and interested to see what you've done
So they put you in a class with Porche's & Ferrari's?

What did you do to make the car lighter?

    Hi,

I use my car just for a race but I don't make championship, I will like but I haven't money for this.

In france, you have a "free day", it's a day where you can to come driving with your car on race.

So it put a lot of different car during the same race. My last race, there was porsche gt3, lamborghini gallardo superleggera and lotus elise for example.

It's very good because this allowed to compare your car with this "supercar".

Ok now I put pics to the car actual, the size is 320x240 because with 640x480, the website said me "the picture is too large"

I see no reason why the car isn't road legal?
I like your seats, but the mounting of the upper belts is dangerous and could cause the seats to fall over or snap in an accident.
You need another bar behind the seats with the belts mounted horizontally, do not put the bar too close to the seats as that could break your spine/neck in an accident

This is what the FIA rules want, in this example the bar also works as a strut brace

Nice car. You have some serious modifications!

Stig is right about the seatbelt fitting, but the strut brace is only a good solution, if the entering point of the belts, coming through the seat holes are over your shoulder. The points is, that the belts always must be further up then your shoulders, otherwise they will push your shoullders down on an unvanted accident, and break your spine, as Stig said.

I also thought of making a lower front strut brace like yours but after some thought realised the rear crossmember already does that job and is unlikely to flex

    Hi,

In France, one modification on your car (up dimension wheels, roll cage, engine, seat) is forbidden for to the road, normally you can just driving with an original car. that why I use my car only race.

Actually, I agree with you with my upper belts, that's right, when I bought the roll cage there wasn't this bar but I go to weld one for to install belts.

the car is lowered to the maximum, so running gear work much more than before.
The front has been widened 54mm currently, 114mm with slicks.

the goal is not really to be more rigid, but with slick tires, the chassis will work very hard and this bar can distribute the forces exerted on a mounting triangles having 4 distribution point.

the chassis of origin would have distorted with slicks, holding a slick effort is an incredible, must see to believe.
I saw cars have distorted frame after a day of racing.

It's my first car which I modified for race and in france, there aren't a lot of racing part for this car so I must to build, so I think that it's normal I do error.
this website is here for this and i thanks you.
