Woot woot i gotta drive the trac for the first time tonight! I belive i have found my problem, i have a vaccum leak somewhere after the turbo becuase when it hits boost it spools up but not much power. second gear will pull good past 4k so i have a boost leak somewhere in the system. Im gonna bring it to work and have the Toyota master tech who just built a BAD ASS stroked 87 supra TT check it ouy. Unless anyone here knows a quick way to find the leak? Also how do i check to make sure my intercooler pump is running?
pump some coloured gas through your lines between the turbo and intake mani, and see where it leaks out?
ran the ol' paper clip diag today and its throwin a code 12. Book says : No "NE" or "G" signal to ecu within 2 seconds after engine has been cranked. No idea what this means. She still hesitates when it hits boost and is only boostin about 5lbs tops. Any ideas?
cleared the codes and now ts runing a 54 and a 51. So im gonna replace my wires and my cap to see if that helps.
think i found my boost leak! the little hose between the turbo and the IC is all cracked and crappy so i ordered a new one from toyota for $22.00 and set of plug wires for $27.50 so im just working through getting it running 100% by process of elimination. Shes a daily driver though and im stoked! gonna get some pictures soon for you guys to oogle over.
Cracked and crappy sucks........ Congrats on getting it to the DD stage. I hope full boost happens with the new hose and wires
So we ran through it and found a few wires disconnected, im gonna post some pics tomorrow and see if anyone can help find where they go.
So i was lookin around under the hood today and i find these! Where do they all go?1st one is on passenger side by the firewall. second one comes off the top of the water outlet pipe on the head. 3rd one still dont know whwe it goes im guesing on the back of the intake but i cant find where yet.
The big blue one looks like the air con plug I had to plug in to keep my fan from running full time, but I may be wrong? Glad its up and running!
Okay, this sounds like the issue I had, on the A/C pipes that run into the car ( not sure you have these? if its a swap?) there is a matching plug for the blue connector. just connect the two and the fan controller will stop getting the fan to run full time. If you don't have the connector of the AC pipe work you may well have to bridge the blue connector with some wire instead. But I am not sure of which goes to which points, may have to have a play. But essentially sorting this will fix the full time fan run.
