Hi, Wondering if anyone can advise me the best way to remove a windscreen from a 1988 ST162. I've found an import ST162 in a wreckers where you have to remove the parts youself and its got a great tinted windscreen in it which I would love to get for mine but I have no idea how to remove it, are they just held in with the windscreen rubber or are they bonded in ? Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Peter ToySX162
Thanks Lone Wolf, I've found all the other posts on this subject and it definitely sounds like it's a real pain to do so I might forget about it and get a professional to replace it for me !
Like lone wolf said it is a PITA, I tried every trick in the book and still cracked mine all over the place. I'm replacing it with Lexan for racing use, but have it just taped togather to use as a template. What really sucks about the whole deal, is all the other windows came out easy as could be....... racerb :banghead
Ha ! You weren't kidding about the tape holding it together ! I wonder why they are so hard to get off compared to the other windows, must be the sealant they use on windscreens plus the laminated glass is obviously much more prone to cracking than the safety glass they use in the other windows. I like your little ST162 coupe, what engine are you running in it ?
The front windscreen is the only piece that is laminated, the rest will be unlaminated safety glass or toughened glass which doesn't crack anywhere near as easy.
