Has anyone seen a series 1 wiring loom running on a series 2 ecu on a 3S-GE? I think its whats causing my engine light to stay on.

You have to pull the plugs out one by one, thru out the engine, centre console, ect. I asked one wrecker, he said $150, i was like, um, yeah see you later. Hopefully i can find a cheaper one at Pick 'n' Payless. If you can find a good one for $20, then thats nothing compared to what tight ass wrecker charges, lol.

I just know at u pull it they dont care bout the cash! I was to pay 5.50 for a spoiler piece for my SX. I gave him a 5, went for the 50 cents an he says nah dont worry bout it. Just one example, if they swa a wheelbarrow full of wires prob just say 20 bux thanx mate. lol.

Goodluck with your hunt. I thought it would be a PITA to get outr lol.

BTW series 2 have diff mirror connectors inside the door, i have series 2 mirrors coz they were in great cond lol....

Pretty sure you should be fine, u have the s2 motor and ecu, and fr the dash part of the loom, it should all be the same.

Yeah, should be. But i just want to make sure, because i dont want to pull everything out and get stuck.

Well now you've got me totally confused :loco:

5th gen celica's did not have a 3s-ge engine option, 4a-fe 3s-gte 5s-fe were the only options available in north america.

So I don't know what series 2 ecu you would be trying to use but if your 4th gen wireing harness actually fits the ecu you have then the ecu must be a 4th gen ecu because the 4th gen 3s-ge wireing harness will not plug into any of the 5th gen ecu's (4a-fe 3s-gte 5s-fe)

So perhaps you could give me a bit more info

Has nothing to do with any 5th gen. My car is a 1986 model (series 1), with a series 2 (1988-1989) engine in it. But it has a series 1 wiring loom, which i am faily certain is causeing my problems.

It SHOULD be causing problems because the wiring is slightly different between these 2 ECUs. Check the BGB to find some ECU pinouts for the two differnent series. Once you compare them, it should make more sense. I talked about this problem in a previous post seen here: http://www.st162.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2566

It's possible that there are more, or less, differences on your side of the pond. I don't know if you would even have EGR, but the o2 sensor is a definite problem. Good luck in sorting it out.
