Both are available at procarparts.com for around 43$ or so. Not for the 86, specifically, but 87. They are all the same. They are listed as "reverse glow gauges". http://www.procarparts.com/store-detail.asp?sku=TY87CC-6223RGX Or http://www.procarparts.com/store-detail.asp?sku=TY87CC-5658RGX And for us 120mph guys: http://www.procarparts.com/store-detail.asp?sku=TY87CC-0167RGX http://www.procarparts.com/store-detail.asp?sku=TY87CC-4324RGX
those ones that glow blue at night, would they really glow blue? i always just assumed that the LED's were green in our cars... wouldnt that make it glow a funny bluey-greeny colour??
I'm not sure, but for 45$, they damn well better come with some LED's . edit: added the 120mph gauges to the links in above post.
So if I got them for my 88 Alltrac... install them as directed and they will show up like that... (assuming we remove the stock bulbs?)
I dont think light will pass through these gauges anyway...but they get hooked up to a different power source than what your gauges use...and yes they will work...
they do light up like a watch or w/e like rye said, quite bright actually. there is also an audible high pitched sound coming from the light box thingy (wow my brain just got lost) but its not that bad. also i wired them up to my side markers so they turned on with the light but u have to press the on button still, unless u do some more advanced wiring and disconnect the switch. and ya if u dont have them turned on and still have the regular backlit lights on full u can barely see and its very hard to read.....thats how i have it and dont mind it, im sure if u replaced the lights in there with brighter ones it would look great
Oh come on...just rip out youre whole cluster and put all aftermarket gauges in... Wheres everyone's sense of adventure.
Bah, I have more important things to spend my money on with this car anyway. Maybe for christmas or something, when it's not my money.
