So my alltrac has developed this strange problem where the heaters blower fan doesnt come on, but then sometimes i will be driving along and the damn thing will start working. Its starting to get pretty cold here so i def need a heater. anyone have any ideas?
does the fan turn on even when it's set to blow cold air? resolder all the connections relating to the fan speed on the circuit board. even better, resolder every connection lol.
It's the blower resistor under the glove box/fan motor area. It's held in by one screw. Sometimes it cracks, leading to no fan blower speeds.

so i checked the resistor and looked over all of the connections and still no fan. is it possible that its the control panel? Is there anyway i can just hardwire my blower fan for a quick fix. its -12 here and im in desperate need of a heater! lol
heres what my resistor looks like. is that cement like stuff on top just to keep the coils from touching because when i removed the resistor some of that gray cement like stuff came off.
Did you check it or visual inspection only? Yes, it could be the control panel, you may have to do the solder fix: http://www.st162.net/forum/showthread.php?98-4th-Gen-Heater-QUICK-FIX-and-PERMANENT-FIX
solved it today. the fan motor was bad, it would work if you turned it upside down but if you placed it upwards i.e. how its installed it wouldnt run. had a spare one so i threw it in and now we're cookin again
That's good to hear, glad you got it solved. It's a good idea posting it, it may help someone else too.
im gonna do a how to on taking out the blower motor for the guys who might be intimidated by it. its not hard at all like some other vehicles where you havew to remove the dash lol.
