hi guys i found a turbo kit online and was wondering how hard it would be to install on a 3s -ge like would i need new pistons or could i put the thing on like 1 psi for awhile till i figure everything out? thanks guys
this is what i've heard around, for the work you need to do to get a 3s-ge turbo'd and the cost involved to get power and reliability, it would be cheaper to go with a 3s-gte someone correct me if i'm wrong. AND HOLY CRAP AEROFORM BUMPER. WANT! :drool5 :drool5 :drool5
yep. do a search unless you get given all the parts for basically nothing and can do all the work yourself it aint worth it. get a 3sgte and plonk it in and wire her up. easiest, cheapest and simplest way
It's certainly not stock bumper. We don't have to many manufacturers for our Celica. You may need an MR2 3SGTE since you're FWD. Can anyone confrim?
Nope. Very doable, but actually a tad more of a fuss b/c of the mid-engine layout of the MR2. 165/185/205 3SGTE is more straightforward due the the layout of the engine ancillaries/plumbing.
1st I'd get my suspension, alignment & camber sorted - that thing must be hell to drive MR2 pipes & alternator are wrong for FWD, you could use the head, block, manifolds
the alternator on the above picture should be in front of the timing belt cover and in it's place, there should be the PS pump. speaking of which, where's the PS pump on the mr2 gte? i think there's 3 mentioned aeroform bumpers on this forum, mafix, the one that turbodog found with a GT, and there was another one being sold along with a kaminari. yours would be the 4th?
I agree with stig, get whatever is wrong with the suspension/steering fixed and then go from there - bent tie rod maybe?
wow guys i lucked out i fount that bumper at the junk yard, im getting new struts soon and then an alignment so i should be good, ill look at the tie rods tomorrow
The power steering pump on the MR2's is an electric pump that I think bolts onto the firewall of the mr2 chassis.
