I was looking for white gauge faces for my car (haven't found yet), but I did stumble upon this: http://www.stylinconcepts.com/parts.aspx/partfamilyid/1587/subcategoryid/357/categoryid/1 heads up display digital tach on the windshield. I can't decide if it's really cool or very stupid, but I thought I'd tell you gents about it all the same. And if someone knows where to get good white gauge faces for our cars, let me know. Thanks. edit: yeah, it's a truck website, didn't catch that. but it is a universal mod, so maybe it would work with our cars.
there are glow gauges on ebay and some online store....procarparts maybe. Heard they were pretty cheap quality though.
I'd never personally put one of those HUDs on my car, but I thought it was interesting. I looked through the aftermarket support list and didnt see gauge faces, but I'll check again. The ones from procarparts look nice, does anybody know how good the quality of them is? edit: doh, procarparts is on the support list. haha
The Mazda Rx seris came with that option- pretty nice to turn off the Gauge lights on long drives and have the light glow of red to view!
I had a 1989 Grand Prix Mclaren (basicly just a beefed up turbo model) and it had those on it, they were pretty cool.
pussy. oh and a speedo would be a bitch to make "universal" as rpms are alot easier to get electronically ecu signals bla bla
yeah especially since cars like our have a cable running the speedo. it'd be hard to have that connect to the HUD as well.
Yer...I don't need the speedo, I can tell my speed by the RPMs. It would just be that much more cool.
heh...after driving the 87 I got used to knowing my speed based on the gear I'm in and the sound...well the 92 is different so what felt like 55 in the 87 is more like 70+ in the 92...but still no tickets.
I like the idea of the HUD....it would do me no good anyways...i have the 86 GT coupe wit the digi. gages
