here we go, finally got a chassis to start with, the car is currently totally disasembled, i plan to stuff a jdm st-165 into her, ( gotta clean her first tho lmao) ill post some more pics later on this week *-edited by rye to display the pic!
im heading out to her tmorrow to get out the stock gt-s harness out, and hook up my all-trac harness, also i gotta get all the crap and spare parts out of her. let project gt-s (so slique) begin!! 8)
alright finished day one, got the stock gt-s harness out of her but kinda got lost on where my all trac harness goes.... the pictures will show what i mean. plus i gave her a little clean it was so filty lmao EDIT: Use [.IMG] tags ;p -Youds
i belive that i have solved my problem. those wires in the first pic go to the ecu i think. i think that i have the wrong ecu, the one that came with my engine was out of an mr2..... any thoughts??? thanks
ok, your gonna have 3 plugs that are grouped together out of the 5 that you showed. Those 3 are for the ecu. The other 2 plugs plug in between the ecu and shifter. If you have an mr2 engine you need the mr2 ecu.
well the engine i have is out of a 88 al trac, so it looks like im going to have to hunt down a st-165 ecu. out of curiosity where does the ecu go? thanks
hold the phone! you have a problem and an upgrade so you are using a 165 motor...but that harness goes to a 185! it'll work but you'll need a 90-92 185 ecu.
i bought the harness of allblackalltrac it should work with the fourth gen, but i bought my engine from an mr2 guy, ( it is a 165 for sure) but i think he just through it in just to help the deal go through.
well as mafix said, it can work with the 185 ecu. so finding one of them should be a lot cheaper than breaking for a whole complete harness and ecu
well a guy on celicatech.com is asking $$110.00 + shipping for a 185 ecu. i thought it would be a wise idea if would consult the 4g crew first, Toytuner: im wondering how wuch you will charge for the 165 harness and ecu. Mafix: how much work would it take if i have to adapt the 185 harness to my engine? thanks
dude you can get them on alltrac.net for 50 bucks all day. adapting isn't bad. just a lot of random sensors to change.
Are you planning on rebuilding that before you put it in? Or are you just gonna hope for the best lol
