i heard those thing are really resricting to airflow

you dont need to start off with a GTE if you want to put a SC on as long as u change the compression ratio you can start with a GE if u get some flat top pistons or/and a thicker head gasket then run some high-ass boost

SC on 3SGE will be too much work, for one simple reason: Where are you going to mount it, and still be able to run a belt tensioner...

    electronic supercharger

    Supercharger?
Electronic supercharger, they are all over ebay and they are super cheap.
What kind of engine do you need?
Well I can see that there may be a benefit at low engine revs, but the higher the engine revs I thought it sucked more air in too. So at what point does an inline fan in the airbox become a restrictor to the air flow and what is the cost to alternator current drain, because these are electric.

A ram air box (like the ones used on some motorcycles can push higher amounts of air into an airbox, when the bike is travelling at 60km/h. I would expect the same to happen with a CAR version of RAM air box. So this fan thing is only going to be of benefit at low car speeds and low engine speeds if you have a better way of ramming air into your air box.

The electronic superchargers dont work. Super/Turbocharging relies on the basis of compressed air (boost). The electronic supercharger is just a fan blowing air into the intake under no pressure. Also it adds another electrical load to the car. Heres a video fro MCM mythbusting it-----> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbGWgvJN1_8

feel a fan blowing wind on your hand and then put your hand directy on your intake tubing when idling ... the thing gets torn apart instantly !

    sc12/3sge

i have heard of sc12 on low boost is ok but i would like confirmation before i do any mods & the sc12 will fit in the space that you get from removing the a/c pump & using a 4agze 20 valve crank shaft pully & costom made bracket to mount sc12 in place of a/c
I am going to use a boost controller to run 4-5psi to start
the advantage of sc12 is that it has a clutch & switch as well as internal bypass
If anyone can provide more info i would be thankful

Why don't you like alum blocks??? They work great on the SR20DET's (oops...i forgot we weren't supposed to say swear words on this forum, unlike ratsun, where we are required to cuss).

as for s/c, jwagner picked up a 1zz supercharger about a year ago. i have no idea what he's doing to it though

because there is no aluminum block in the 3s/5s platform. (not that i know of anyways)

I know but people are always compairing 3sge's to sr20's...

beacuse they make similar power outputs.

a lot of people compare the st185 to the 3kgt vr4. power to weight is about the same.

when you thow in the aluminum block...then the world changes. you may as well use an LS series engine at that point (yes they come in fwd platform as well).
