On the oxygen sensor in my car, someone cut off the plug in the wiring harness and soldered the plug in directly. The only problem is it all broke off and I dont know which wire goes where. I cant remember the colors of wire coming off the oxygen sensor, but I know that its the Bosch brand one. Please help, because I know doing this wrong will screw up how my engine runs.
Here are the wires coming from the sensor. 2 black, a white and a blue. And then it just has the normal, black, red, green and pink wires going from the wiring harness to the plug
Anyone have any help with this? The wiring diagram in my book isnt the most helpful and I dont know which wires on the sensor do what.
-89 bgb shows the harness should have a black/yellow, white, brown and red/white. -hopefully its not different in an 88. -agreed with sean, need a pic of the harness. -dont worry, i think the way an o2 works even if you hooked it all up backwards i dont think you could damage anything. it would just throw codes.
I had the same problem when we were swapping the engine. I can only go under the car at this weekend hopefully, I'll look how is mine connected and tell you, if you won't get the answer until then!
I assume it doesnt matter what black they go to? Thank you so much, I dont know what I would do without this site.
there is always something to check or look for, and only my girlfriends dad has inspection pit in his garage (is this the right phrase?) But as I see you got this one sorted
