[REPOSTED 2011] Conservative ongoing build thread, feel free to post a comments, suggestions  The system that came with the car was total crap, so this is basically what I started from and the build went on from there.
Finally got a REAL amp I can't believe I went this long without a quality sub amp - lesson learned Alpine Mono Block MRP-M450 400w @ 2 ohm Class D Planning to upgrade the dash 4" sets next. -K
Just put it in today, so still fine tuning is needed. Here's where I put the amp fuse block was put and where the amp power wire was fitted through the firewall:
Re: YAY! I finally put the Bostons in my car AND MORE! I wanted new Fronts so I bought a NIB - 4" component system: Boston RC420's 8)
it's coming along kevin. you know i used to build competition systems right? PM me if you need some assistance.
The whole system sounds really nice so far, I don't think I can get it any more natural or clearer. I'm possibly going to leave the main tweets buried and maybe add the optional ambient tweets to the mirrors or vice versa depending  I do see why people are moving towards 5-6 ch amps these days - simply put you can do much more fine tuning with a set up like that. Maybe next year  -K
I wanted all type R, but was unsure if they fit in the pods so I decided on the RC's, the rears 6's I had laying around and popped them in too As for the sub, that BAZ pmiller really wasn't all that bad, it just was abit maxed with the class D so I upped to the type R. The type R is amazingly clean with this amp, I do not regret the purchase whatsoever. You might want the 12" though, the rest of your sys might drown out a little 10" -K
haha yer my 10 inch subs not very noticeable mind you the splits and sub are running through a prity small amp, cant remember what capacity it is. Next on the list is a new headunit as mines shittttttttttttttttttt, gunna go with the iDA-X305 from alpine as i never use cds anymore. pics of sub install????

Sure if you want, it's just sitting in the right side of the trunk firing left. I think Mafix suggested that, and that placement sounds the best to me. Read the list before like 2 yrs ago LOL must've been soooo loud. I'd say my sys is somewhat hi-end, quite conservative though and no comps for me, that's where the thieves go to scope out peoples cars - well at least around here anyway. -K
mmmm yeah, that'd be niiice - put less stress on the amp. What do you want for it? maybe early next week LOL
I was in the trunk today, so here 'ya go (note: I added a wood panel cut to fit under the rug so it sits better ):
