My 88 coupe-new project

    Hey guys new here, loving my 1st st162 project so far, its a 88 st coupe 3sfe, done 240000kms one owner since new..so I've done ignition coil,dizzy cap, rotor,leads,plugs,k&n panel filter and k&n oil filter,new battery and alternator, t-stat and 52mm thick alloy radi, bleed/drained old brake fluid,installed dgr street coilovers..still needs new fuel filter,gearbox drain/flush, new clutch,f/l cv joint & other bits and pieces+some nice15x8$..i brought it with a foul leaky injector and overheating issues but is very straight no rust, do have new injector ordered but havnt solved overheating:( although this site has been helpful on clearing a few things up..still loving it !

    image.jpg image.jpg Hopefully it's not the dreaded HG...I did mine about two years ago when it had similar symptoms. JamesZzy also did his F motor around the same time.

    Yes! We like pics :D

    You put a 52mm rad and a new thermo in it and it STILL overheats? :confused: Does it boil over into the overflow bottle?

    Oh yes! it overheats still;) fully prepped for it to be h|g but hoping not..of course will put some pics up tomorrow

    hey what clutch you used ? i got a 3sfe also, need help finding the best parts for this engine and also, where can i find good springs and such ? only parts i find are for hatchbacks

    Haven't done clutch yet, but exedy ones on eBay, everything I have brought of there, except coil I got from Toyota for a mere 32$

    image.jpg As a new 4th gen owner you'll soon find that the local boneyard will become your best buddy...
    I snatched the whole facelift front for my 87. Almost plug an play. image.jpg My old exhaust mani for my g motor was really wasted and had a hillbilly repair haha.
    I found a pristine replacement plus all the missing brackets for dirt cheap
