I bought this celica 3 years ago, it´s one of two st162 left in use in Iceland. when I got it it was really beaten up and hadn´t been taken care of in a long time, it was soposed to be black but it was grey cause the paint hasn´t been polished in years and it had alot of rust. but I decidet to rescue this one. here are some pics. this is wat it looked like first polish in years lining up the whells when I lifted the car we saw this... so we started working on fixing the floor, all coming to geather some of the soundsystem more pictures really soon
WOW - Fantastic pics - thks! Keep them coming in!!! I see there is also a nice reliable Toyota Corolla there too! NEW Stereo system - woohoo! Sub/woofer/Amp - what are the 2 different flat rectangular boxes? Can I ask what u put on to rust-proof the bottom?
wow...that beats my rust issues in the past with ease !! wtf with that plate under the passenger seat??? Like dropping your passenger on the ground lol Real nice work done on the car !
thanks you all. the boxes next to the soundsystem is just some stuff that were lying around on the flor, not a part of the stereo. I used wurth saBesto tectyl spray to rust proof the bottom.
those flormats are from a 2001 model I once had. I kept them when I sold the car and they fit pretty well.
dedication! and your rust looks far worse than mine was. be sure and check the wheel arches and the back of the front fenders really well (along with all the other things you have done) great work so far. and welcome to the forum!
yes it´s a rare car in Iceland and that´s the season why I bought it plus I love celica´s. And yes I know the owner of the other running st162. This is my work place. I work for a local Toyota dealership in the spare parts division. I found alot of other rust. I have alot of more pictures to come
More rust we found and fixed my brother built and welded everything that was destroyed by rust Me on the fire watch As you can see, I changed the wheels I painted the seat brackets, they were rusty and ugly we did alot more work on the car. I will post more pictures soon
Nice work bro!! I'm so happy you rescued such a beauty!! Be a proud owner if there's only 2 left!! Awesome work with the rust too! The paint after the polish looks great!!! BTW, i want your seats 0_0' and, the floormats are stock from the Celica 2000+? I NEED to get them! haha Take care, and good work, is a reliable car that WON'T dissapoint you, beleiveme!
Thanks I´m wery proud to have this one. the seats are great and I love that the driver seat has an elecric switch for the lumbar and side support. I ordererd the floor mats from a celica 2000+ accessories catalog when I had that car, (the original partnumber for the flormats is "PZ410-10350DG")
You've had a generation 7 Celica and now this generation 4. Which one do you prefer although I understand they are both great Celicas in their own right. It nust be useful working for Toyota as you can get a lot of original parts, but do they give you a good discount ?
