Finally got my GTS to stop making me look like I can't drive a manual, what with all it's jerking and crap. Intake hose has a crack in it, which I didn't see the first 2 times I checked it. 1 foot of electrical tape later and now I actually can tell my motor isn't a 2SE. Still need to clean the intake mani to get T-VIS back online, but atleast I can have some fun now. I was getting worried, my GTS was accelerating slower than my old 2SE powered GT. But it's all better now.
I think duct tape is as strong most glue products- Did you know that a 1 foot piece of tape can hold up and exhaust manifold AND a Intake manifold !!!!
God job Get that thing running properly, and get down to the noke, We'll have to go for a cruise once I get my mr2
Yeah, last night I ran it hard, and when I got to Doug's it had started to run like ass again. The GE sucks so much air it managed to pull some of the tape (which was triple wrapped) through the crack (not actually into the manifold) . Doug had some JB Weld lying around, so I used that to fill the crack, and now it is never going to be a problem. It worked great. I just bought a new half-shaft, so I'm back to no money for a serious tune-up atm.
Is that intake hose still an issue? I'm headed to the yard tomorrow where there's an '86 GTS I've been stripping for parts. I know the intake hose (I assume you mean the black hose between AFM and throttle body) is all good. At least it looked good - I'll give it a real thorough going over and can grab it for you if you want.
If the interior is red, and the steering wheel is in good shape, I would like it. I don't need the intake hose, but grap it anyway.
