Hey, I've checked out the other posts on this.. I'm looking at changing out the LEDs for my blinkers. Specifically to reduce the power draw.. As it stands, my blinkers put a pretty heavy drain on the battery, to the point my radio will cut out at times (maybe signs of a deeper issue?). My understanding is the blinkers may (will?) blink faster, due to the low power consumption. Will a flash fix kit null and void the power gains of switching out to LEDs? http://www.st162.net/forum/showthread.php?1324-LED-lights&highlight=leds
I think the proper solution to your problem would be to search for the weak points in the wiring, and re-wire it.
So my knowledge is a little lacking here.. I searched around, and came across this in the RH tail light: Little hard to tell by the pic, but it's burnt up.. Could this be the cause of the power drain, while using the blinkers? (My knowledge on electronics bluntly sucks.. ) Fixing it regardless, of course.
Rewired, and all happy. Power drain using the blinkers isn't anywhere near as bad now, too
good to hear man, check all your bulbs, grease them, and make sure your ground strap is nice on your battery with a connection to the frame, and bellhousing. Also a nice thick ground from the alternator to the frame helps alot.
