In my st162 the gas lite ingages when the fuel level reaces it's low point! But as aposed to new cars the lite goes and come all the time while I am driving! As soon as I pull away the light comes on and when I slow down and or stop the lite goes away. WTF?
Nothing to worry about, I'm guessing that's just the sensor reacting to the gas sloshing around at lower levels. Mine does that too. I still get about 50-80 KMS more after the light comes on.
Yeah, the gas level sending unit in the Celica is incredibly inaccurate once it gets around a 1/4 tank. Hell, I've had the light come on from 1/2 tank after a hard launch.
i think my globe is blown... lol im going to pull the dash out soon, replace that globe. inexpensive to fix. 80 cents max. its just one of them parker globes. its the small ones that can be painful to find.
hm for people having this problem, do check your fuel sender. not the arm that moves, but the little container that fills up with gas. i found mine full with some sort of sediment, i haven't tried putting it back in yet since i use the electronic dash sender now.
just sayin for those that have their low gas light that lights up even when gas is not low at all rofl
