Freeze plugs

    This is pretty much the last on my bottom end needs for the build..Anyone know here i can get them..dealership wants $129.95 for a set..thats insane. :eek:

    If you know the part numbers you can check toyota parts cheap

    if you don't know the part numbers I can look them up. What model and year is the engine.

    Its a 1986 usdm 1st gen 3sge

    ??? what are freeze plugs im doing my cars bottom end soon :D ( not my bottom end) lol
    but what do they do etc ? would i needa get some when i do mine

    you dont "need" to do them but ...if your motor overheats they pop out before your engine blows..oem are steel ..i really wanted brass so they would look nice when i get the block powdercoated and they dont rust too so..But if youre doin a complete over haul, Might as well.

    mike do you remember the size of the plugs? they are the same on our blocks.

    So you need 9 plugs all together = $31.23 :smirk: plus shipping

    When you get them take them into your local stealership and show them your invoice :violin:

    Sorry it took so long I was switching comps and didn't have the EPC on the new harddrive.

    I can only assume that there is some difference between the one that goes in the back of the block and the other 8 that go on the cylinder walls.

    Ya it says in the description
    cylinder plugs OD = 35
    back of block OD = 40

    So I'm guessing thats Outside Diameter of 35 & 40 millimeters

    lol same mafix , besides im in nz tho so loadn over seas sites is sometimes slow and def not 10 meg !
