Having already removed door glass and all it's hardware, the door is already pretty light. I don't like removing the inner door bars, it makes them way too flexible. The '86 is getting inner door skins removed and NASCAR door bars, not removing quite as much material from the '87 doors. If I make them removable, they will still swing on all three door pins, just be quick release like a Porsche GT3 Cup car. Going to use something like this in place of the standard pins.....https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/bigpicture.asp?RecID=783 racerb
Removed the top hinge pin on the GTS today, found it to be basically a 5/16" pin, so the quick release pins from Pegasus Auto Racing will fit perfectly. racerb
Hey bob sent the 6$ today also wanted to ask do you still have the turning signal switch??? I need a new one mine went out. thanks
I'll look again, but I believe I have an entire turn signal/wiper assembly that will be available. racerb
Not much progress the last few weeks, too many side jobs and preparation for the new house. Sorry for leaving you guys hanging, but I'm trying to get my act together, and get back on helping y'all out and getting my s@%t done on the car! racerb
Here is the house we are buying, well sort of, we are getting lots of upgrades, like 8' ceilings, sheetrock throughout, upgraded appliances, and 2 additional doors (sliding off dining area and side door off 4th bedroom/office). We received approval from our Underwriters today, so we will order our house for custom build next week, happy 4th of July! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mHde_iubdM racerb
Still have my single car garage, that will be expanded to around 3 car later on. We are going to be living at the exact same place, just a new home being built on site. racerb
Yea it's mostly wood framing, with vinyl siding, and asphalt shingles. The base price on the model was $93,000, but with the upgrades we are wanting, the price jumped to around $110,000, still low for this area. Our biggest advantage with this deal, we already own our land, most people are having to buy that too! racerb
Now I understand... Our house is for sale for 236K Euro but there is no wood involved, all concrete bricks and ceramic rooftiles etcetera. What is the expected life span of such a house?
Not sure about these factory built modular homes, but the average stick built as we call them, will last as long as you maintain them. Our last house in Kannapolis was build in the 1930's, and is still standing strong. One advantage to a factory built home, is that it's not exposed to the elements during constructing, like rain, wind, or snow. Kinda like cars, if you take good care of them, they could last forever! racerb
Congratulations on the new house, but yeah, too bad you didn't get the 5-car garage to go along with it Do you have any pictures of your brake ducting mount on the wheel? Planning on making a summit order sometime soon to get our new ducting and wondering if that black ABS mount you linked a while back worked for you, or if we should just try to fab something up.
Never ordered the actual brake hub adapters, just the bumper ducts for now, in fact I've been so busy with house stuff, I've not had time to work on the car. We will be killing power to the old house soon, which means my shop will be down also. Gonna have to re-feed all my buildings, so might be late summer to early fall before all power is restored. I do plan to upgrade my service to the shop, in preparation for an addition some time next year, looking at roughly 14'x28' of added space. racerb
