how much of the exhaust is interchangable between the 4th and 5th gen GT-S'? specifically the last piece with the muffler that goes up and over the control arm? I'm hoping to be able to have 2 muffler setups for my 5g, a more civilized but partly clogged one, and a higher-flowing but louder one, as well as swapping over the almost new exhaust from the 4g.
have whatever exhaust u can find, im not sure about what ur asking but make sure it isnt to large an exhaust, especially before the muffler, cuz ur engien will lose pressure making it run low powered and rough
I'm trading my spare Kenwood amp for a Magnaflow muffler, 2.25" inlet dual 3" outlets, it's the piping for the "axleback" that I'm hoping to salvage from my 4g, I know if you buy a vehicle-specific muffler it's already welded on, but with a universal one like this all you have is the muffler. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v496/Jethro6986/100_1165.jpg you can see it in that pic I just stole from Chris
If you are running the 5sfe NA then 3 inch is gonna be horrible. The only thing the 5s has to offer is a bit of torque. Lack of backpressure kills torque. The little bit of upper RPM hp you may gain won't be worth it. The fe head and intake just doesn't flow right for upper RPM power. I had 2.5" on my 92 gts when I bought it and Lost .4 on my 1/4's by putting 2" all the way back. Just a thought.
