I have the 88 BGB for the ST162 unfortunately digital dashes were only available in North America in 86 & 87 on the ST160 so I'm hoping that someone can check the "Body Electrical" section of their 86 or 87 ST160 manual and scan or take a picture of the page for the Digital Dash which should look similar to the following page for the 88 Analog cluster but it should have 4 connectors instead of the 3 for the analog cluster. I allready know the wiring for the bottom 2 white plugs, the green printed circuit board has all their connections printed on them so I just need to figure out the top middle plug and top right plug.
I have the 87 North American BGB but no scanner or time right now, will try to check over the weekend.
Do you have a digital camera Rick? They are pretty much same/better quality than a scanner these days anyway....
sry i cant help ST165-2765, i have the book but i left it at my grandpa's house im sure someone will b able to help you before i get mine back tho.
Pretty sure I have a copy, but with exams right now I'm a bit busy. I could do it Tuesday or Wednesday possibly if you don't have it by then. Did you get yourself a light dimmer to go with the digital dash? I know for certain that they are different from the analog dimmer. They have four wires instead of two IIRC.
In my 1987 BGB, the top meter diagram is identical to yours, so I didn't take a pic of it. The info below has some differences. Hope this helps you:
Thanks alot for the time & trouble Rick, unfortunately that is for the analog guages for an 87 with 3 plugs and I need a diagram for a dash with 4 plugs. Your manual as is mine is for the ST162 model and I need a 86 or 87 BGB for the ST160 model.
Thanks for the info Dman_23, no I didn't get the light dimmer to go with the digital dash but you are correct the EPC says the digital dash does use a different dimmer switch than the analog cluster. I'll check with the guy I got the dash from as he did have access to the car and managed to get all 4 plugs for the dash after I sent him an email about he plugs.
Sorry forgot about this - I found the BGB, should be the right one, with the 2se in it, so it's the 86 manual (cover is missing). Give me a couple of days and I'll scan it for you.
Beauty thanks a million. Thats certainly more info than I had before. Still no info on plug B but all the others are covered.
Big thanks to Dman_23 for the pics and also Rye for finding the following manual for sale on ebay and letting me know about it. I'll post both analog & digital cluster info for comparison/conversion ANALOG FIRST DIGITAL SCHEMATIC
I have also copied the scematic diagram from the back of the book in 5 parts that you print out and tape together if you want. I have also copied this diagram to explain the power sources A B D E Ground sources a b c e f are expained on the previous schematic (schem1)
Well I think I've got it pretty much figured out. Fuel level sender is totally different so I won't be hooking that up for now, I would either have to make a converter circuit or get the digital sender unit. No oil pressure guage, boost guage or battery guage either with the digital unit so I'll probably make a custom cluster and put the fuel, oil pressure, boost & battery guages in it. Not sure what I'm going to do with A13 from the digital cluster it's suposed to go to the starter switch.
