Is bent(it seems only on the bottom), by jacking it up on that element and now it is hitting transmisson bolts but not much, but enough to be annoying. Does anyone have good pics on top, side and bottom view on it or knows the urls. I can not find much on it, much less finding replacement. I have 89 Celica GTS(i think that's implied).Any help and suggestions for fixing is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Marek
    You're right... That's badly distorted.
Maybe someone here has an extra. As I mentioned I think you can drop that n-s member and maybe a frame shop can straighten it or you can pound it back enough to clear.

I did that already. The shop lookd at it and sai couldn't do it. Wish they could. I can't believe that nothing can be done. Two small circles is the area where the bolts and tran body is hitting, the big circle is where is actually bent. I wonder if i have rear motor mount backwards. It is off center> I am looking online for it's proper orientation. IMG_20171115_184405sm.jpg

Does anyone have jacking suggestion other than the one I included? I'd venture a guess that anyone using this method will get the same problem. Comments anyone?

Sorry for not complete info. Crosshatched circles are the jacking points, and the rectangles are the support. Thank you all.

When I jack mine up I get the saddle of the jack right under the two bolts at the front of the crossmember:

Yeah, I can see that. I wish I did mine the same way, but nooo. Toyota knows better. Well, I was wrong and so were they. Now, got stuck with it. Thank you very much for the pic. I'll do something. Don't know yet what, can't be driving like that. Takes away from the fun.

Hi Vic, what area you mean? I am new to this so I am not that familiar with nomenclature. Geographically I am in US South/East.

    Yeah I wondered geographically...
You'll have to scope out various junk yard sites like LKQ or maybe a member here has one...
    Post up on "parts wanted".

Yeah, that's what i thought too. What irks me is that you follow the instructions(I mean you pay extra for what you thought would be a reliable info from manufacturer) and you end up with crap like that. I hope that more guys(or girls) had more sense and did MattC did and not follow what Toyota directed. Well, live and learn. I'll look around. If you hear of something available, please let me know. Thanks guys.

I was tempted to use that spot a couple of times but caught myself before I f'd it up too.

What is BGB? Since I got the Toyota manual I never looked anywhere else.

image.jpg You've got it....big green book (BGB) is the fat toyota manual with all of the "accurate" info.
Most people only have Haynes or aftermarket guides.
    (I don't have either haha)
