Can anybody tell me whether the 1987 3SGE has a 6 bolt or 8 bolt flywheel? Which SFE motor has the best cams? or are they the same
cams are all the same. i thought is was only the very first ones that cams 6 bolt and it quickly changed to 8. you guys get different cars down there but i'd say 8.
Thanks, looks like all the 6 bolt stuff is for pre- 91 FE motors. The 8 bolt crank & rods are much beefier but there is a weight penalty. I'm gonna go with the 8 bolts in the name of reliability and ditch all the 6 bolt spares I have. Interestingly the 6 bolt cranks have grooves on the sides of the journals where there should be fillets - not good
