As long as it takes. I've never really timed it, but if I want a proper session, it's about 6 hours.

I know what you mean. They are so darn sleek and sexy, like some sculpture or something.

After driving it with the original radiator ( 23 years ), it was time to change it for a new one. Toyota wanted too much money for a new one, so Rich ( Alwayzsidewayz ) ordered a after market one for a third of the price. He also kindly changed it.

This is how it came in the post

Always a good idea to keep screws in one place

The old coolant was very very clean, so we're going to re-use it

The new rad has these gold bits because it's an automatic transmission

The clamps are not a perfect fit to the original, but its nice and tight still.

Transmission hose had to be shortened as the new rad had minor differences

that old rad really was far beyond "fair"condition indeed ! I see you have the same engine as I have in my shed what used to be in my car. If your engine ever dies on you I have your spare one which was running real strong with me :)

Having the drivers side front wheel arch painted again. It has been done a few times before but the bubbling just keeps coming back. I keep it in a garage so it's kept at bay from the elements to a certain limit.

I hate the rust battle, I just finished treating and painting the entire floor in my car, are you painting the wheel arch in a booth?

CelicaSteve Well-Known Member Staff Member Super Moderator Donated!

Yes it will be done in a booth, only the best will do :)

What about replacing the wing itself with another? Perhaps the fibreglass version?

Or is it to keep the originality of the car?

  19. CelicaSteve

CelicaSteve Well-Known Member Staff Member Super Moderator Donated!

Yes I have thought about this. I can't get an original new wing and I don't like the idea of a fibreglass one. There'll be a lot of adjusting to do on them and might end up looking worse.

It would be nice to keep as much of the originality of the car as possible.

Let's see how long it will last:D Stone Guard Paint was used on top of the primer and the loads and loads of lacquer.
