The owner of the Mr2 we are going to be racing bought a gen3 gte. The harness was chopped at the boot though. We only need the harness to make the engine run and I am making our own switch, fuse, and relay panel. Will the gen2 harness work?

(we don't have a gen 2 or 3, or I would compare the plugs!)

We are going to declare everything! We will be penalized a ridicoulos amount of laps, and won't have the possibility of winning. We really just wanna go out and race and have a good time! I have never road course raced before, so I just want seat time!

    Gen2 has AFM and T-Vis, gen3 doesn't
I don't think you can do it without the gen2 AFM and T/B

Ok, thanks. I would prefer the correct harness anyway, since it will lay out properly to the sensors!
Do you happen to have a Gen 3 harness for sale?

I wish I did - they are so scarce most guys give up and buy a Haltek, Link ecu instead

uh oh. if you guys bought a gen 3 engine for a gen 2 car....
you will need all gen 3 electronics. and harness. the gen 3 is nothing like the gen 2 or 1 as far as electronics go.

I actually just found a gen3 harness from Mr2oc $200 shipped in really good shape. We got the engine with all sensors, trans w/ lsd, and everything attached (manifolds, alt, etc)

I removed all harnesses in the car and am going to connect just the wires we need to the ecu.
