smaller overall diameter = acceleration increase, top speed decrease
larger overall diameter = acceleration decrease, top speed increase

As long as you have low pro tires on there you should be fine... Lot's of people have stuck 15" rims on their Celi's and they don't have any issues

Best bang for your buck is to go with OEM rims from 94-99 GT (15"x7") or the 2000+GTS (16"x6.5").

^^ the 2000+ rims are nice, gts or not, and you can get yourself a set of those for aroudn $200 with tires usually...

Scion tC wheels are also available in the same price range... usually 250 w/stock tires (they suck FYI... I burnt out a pair with only 6k miles in about 20 mins :D)

im running 205/60/14's and they are a hell of a lot better then my miss matches 195's. Id say about twice the kick ass-ness when turning hard. Smaller wheels would be like having shorter gears, they accelerate through the RPM faster but, a larger diam. wheel will spend a few more mph per gear in the powerband giving you more out of each gear. I think size vs. acceleration is about an equal trade, but one you start going bigger the weight has an effect. 19's vs 15's will lose you about .3sec in the 1/4 mile

I want me some Scion tC wheels like Letze's got. The stock GTS wheels are nice, but I'd like a bit thinner sidewalls.

let me clear this up guys. for DRAG you want a small rim and big tire. for everything else you want bigger. for you i'd say 16's and a set of 205/45's. they are the same diameter as the factory wheels, handle a lot better and look a lot better.

when changing wheels around we need to understand that the outer diameter needs to be nearly the exact same.

i hear you have to stay within 3% of stock more or less. I think the rim vs tire has to do with side wall size, smaller sidewalls = stiffer handling?

So if I wanted to put 16x7in wheels on, what profile sidewall should I get?

So let me guess you don't want those Alltrac Wheels?

I'm just curious is all. I'd like to eventually get larger wheels, so figured I'd get some info. I'd still like the Alltrac wheels, just gotta get the money sorted out.

Check the Scion forums, people are dropping them all the time.

Good thing is... NOW is the time to buy them... because they are stock scion owners want something different... and because so many people have them laying around there is a huge supply but limited demand :D

you personally will have to drive a bit (L-Burg or C-Ville) but you can find them.

People vary on their prices... Right now I have them straight off of a TC w/air pressure sensors still in them... I paid 400 for my set... but He's giving me 100 back after I return the ap sensors (100 bucks a piece from the dealer) I went for them because at the time it was cheaper than getting a pair shipped to me.

Prices typically run from 200-300 for the wheels and 250-400 for wheels w/stock tires... (5k or less use) they are only 20k mile tires (at best)

It just depends on your driving style, for me im a crusing type, but not afraid to take a corner doing 75 in a 45, But then you have the comfort riders who just like the ride on the stock setup
Im running 205/45/16 and I love them over the stock, they are low profile Kuhmos.

When I installed my 16 I lowered the rear about 2.5 inches- No tire rub and I love how low it is cause I like to d canyon runs , and I dont like to hit rocks lolol'

The front was dropped about 1.75 inches, but I had bad struts so it had alot of movement.

and don't forget to watch tire pressure with lo-pro's.

I hit 10PSI before they actually looked low.
