sooo whats gonna happen when my axle blows ive been thinking of scenarios but cant decide an exact answer but i have alot of ideas. not sure if its inner or outter but it could be both. oh and im 95% sure its the passenger side. all my predictions have counters for occurance so this should be interesting. im guessing the axle wont separate immediately cause of teh boots and that it wont snap just a joint will go sooo.... open discussion!!!

I blew a rod right THROUGH my engine block...beat that. Oh, and chances are your wheel will still spin but it just won't be driven anymore..I can't see it being THAT dangerous...
it shouldn't be catastrophic......could just leave you stranded somewhere. Or it could break right off and bounce up and do some major damage. Your call
ya this is what i was narrowing it down too hah fuck its annoying not having a shop, this car hasnt seen a mechanic yet...im about to goto one now though
so if it goes when you're accelerating what happens? you just suddenly twist towards the side where it went due to it no longer receiving power?
nope. none of us have lsd so all you'll do is stop accelerating period. it'll be like not having a clutch. BUT the shaft can damage a lot of stuff flying out. mine busted up my steering.
i don't think something spinning at several hundred thousand rpm coming loose in my car is an OK thing.
dude mafix, how the hell is it possible for an axle to fly out of a 3sgte awd. To take my axles out i had to disconnect the hub fromt he control arm and disconnect the tie rod and i BARELY had enough room to remove the axle.
you're funny. i don't drive AWD cars. i personally don't like them. But on the front of the AWDs the same problem can occur. you know the 6 bolts that hold the axle to the trans hub? imagine them sheering off.
i cant really image an axle having enough room to fly off from under our cars cuz theres no freaking room for it to move even if it does sheer off those bolts.
I was making a left trun on a 2 turn lane intersection and the fucker came out and lifted the car IDK a foot and almost put me into a Acura... Funny thing is traffic just stopped stopped- So I get out to check the damage-- Massive dent to the Ouil Pan- bent the Lower Control arm, Ripped the Shaft shield roght off- Broke every bolt that holds the Shaft in!!!!!
seems to be getting closer... and still not available sop time, looks like im payin a mechanic...........
youds, its not that hard man. You dont have the awd tranny so its even easier for you. I put both of mine in within 20 min.
