Are Front Brakes different on a 1987 GTS vs 1989 GTS?

I just got a new set of Brembo (Stock type) front rotors and pads but upon inspection I discovered they were slightly different. If I get the cage and calipers from the later car will they then be compatible?
My car is a 1987, and member whose car I got them from is a 1989; the new ones were ever so slightly larger...

Is your car ABS? I think that may make a difference.

    Mine isn't ABS, and I don't think that Joe's '89 is either...

ABS equipped Celica's have 255mm diameter by 25mm thick rotors, while the Non-ABS cars have 258mm dia. by 22mm thick rotors, making it necessary to use the exact rotor for your car. Most of the ABS equipped cars also had multi-piston calipers as well, while the Non-ABS are single piston.

Centric Brakes has some of the best info with diagrams of the rotors to make selection easier.

yes they are different. the 88-89 gts has slightly larger pads and different rotors. 86-87 gts brakes are the same as 88-89 gt. the easy fix for you now is to get 88-89 gts calipers. they bolt up and the brakes are better.
