K i bought some afm gauges to replace my water temp gauge. (i got oil and battery as well as it was cheaper to buy them as a set them to end up buying them separately down the road. :)

Now my question is how the heck do i install them lol. I was hoping i could install then in the place of the existing gauges but upon taking that apart i realized that wasn't possible.

The main one i need is my water temp gauge. It tells me to install it in place of my existing water temp sensor. but where is that on a 3s-fe? I tried unplugging sensors near where it was suppose to be and it didn't seem to change the gauge position.

    (this is what i bought http://www.iequus.com/product_info.php? ... id=100_105 )

    Green (oil pressure sensor?)

light blue ( water temp sensor)

yellow ( water temp sensor )

I have unplugged both yellow and blue and it didnt change the position of the (factory) temp gauge inside car.

I think once the factory gauge has a setting, it stays like that, so unplugging it won't change what it reads, since it's all electronic.... You'll have to figure out which one it is some other way I suppose...I wish I could help more!

No worries, I think i may look into putting them into my stock gauges places. I've been looking @ it and i think i can mod it kinda like 86celicast did with his boost gauge here ( http://st162.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=210 )

just want to figure out how to hook it all up for sure before i go all hack happy on the gauge cluster :)

oh and if thats the case i will turn the car off and unplug them and then they should be cleared of setting and wont rise to correct setting :S i think

For the oil signal, You run the wire from the guage to the green area. But you have to cut the connector off the end and crimp it on the wire you ran from the guage.

For the temp signal. there is a little prong under that water neck. It has a blue connector on the end of it. do the same as above with that.

Mechanical Oil you take that Oil sender in Green off and screw in the fitting that comes with.

For the Water temp. I wouldn't know how to do a mechanical water temp.

A mechanical water temp has a sensor that transfers the heat like a thermometer. You would have to take out your factory gauge temp sending unit.
